PET COMMITMENT ISSUE? HERE ARE SOME SIGNALS AND TIPS

Being pet parents requires a long-term commitment due to their mean lifespan of 10-15 years. Yet, commitment can be daunting for many because it demands intense determination and devotion. Therefore, those who impulsively own a new pet quickly grow bored and decide to return their pets to shelters.

It seems like a good choice for their pets, but does this morally sound?

We're not here to blame you, but let's let the figures do the talking!

So, you've jumped into pet parenthood, but guess what? It's time for a reality check when those once-adorable traits of your pets suddenly become irritating. For example, your cat's playful habit of batting at your fingers while you work on the computer. It was endearing at first, but as deadlines are approaching, this behavior can be annoying!

Or there could be something that triggers your patience such as puddles on your bed, chewed shoes, missing socks, or vocalization at midnight.

Wait, let's get real! Pets, especially those with a history of rescue, often come with mischief. Yet, here's the thing: those misbehaviors aren't the Universe's signal to abandon your furry baby since every problem has its own fix!

Misbehaviors can be controlled with the right guidance, an investment of time, and patience. Returning is not the solution: it's just dodging your own difficulties. Therefore, there is no excuse for abandonment before attempting to tackle the issues at hand.

Rest assured, we're here to support you through this by sorting some training courses to assist you along the way.

2/ Criticising Over Mis-petiquette

You'd rather be out there, chit-chatting with your human buddies, leaving your four-legged companions alone at home. We know that after all that time cooped up due to social distancing, you can't resist the allure of human interaction.

Your pets, who used to be the centre of your world, now seem like an afterthought. Slowly but surely, you divert energy from nurturing pet bonds and pour it into other enticing things.

When you're consistently reluctant to invest time with pets, it could signal that your interest is losing. So, why not spice up your 'purrfect' ties with something fresh?
